A former team leader and infantry rifleman for the US Marine Corps, Christopher Dabney recently received his bachelor of science in business administration from the University of Florida. Christopher Dabney contributes monthly donations to the charitable organization Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
Each year, DAV hosts a mid-winter conference for members to discuss and advocate legislative reform for veterans. In the past century, DAV has promoted veterans’ rights by appealing to Congress and raising awareness of the key issues affecting veterans. The group’s past accomplishments include helping to establish the Department of Veterans Affairs in the early 20th century and assisting recently returned soldiers from Afghanistan and Iraq. This year’s mid-winter conference focused heavily on the reformation of the Department of Veterans Affairs’ health care system.
The 2017 conference will be held at the end of February in Arlington, Virginia, at the Crystal Gateway Marriott. Reservations are $195. Members can reserve spots ahead of time by visiting www.dav.org.
